SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Training and Support Plan is to describe the approach to training FDACS stakeholders (Super Users, Testers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to enable their ability to confirm the functional completeness of the AgCSS system and to support their efforts during the execution of User Acceptance Testing.
The following sections describe the deliverable expectations agreed upon between GCOM and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for the Agriculture and Consumer Services System (AgCSS) Project D26 - UAT Training and Support Plan.
User acceptance testing will include FDACS Super Users, Testers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) accessing the system and executing predefined test cases.
There are challenges with integrating a new software into the operational pattern of any organization. The benefits of user acceptance testing significantly outweigh the investments in preparing stakeholders. Some benefits include:
▪ Verifying that the system supports key business processes. ▪ Validating that the newly implemented solution will be functional in all key areas. ▪ Confirming that end-user training materials cover key business processes and are
intuitive for end-users. ▪ Increase end-user exposure to the system prior to Go-Live. ▪ Provide the implementation team with time, prior to Go-Live, to fix any configuration
defects/issues that may have been discovered during testing. ▪ Prepare the team for a successful Go-Live.
The UAT Training and Support Plan is vitally important to the successful stakeholder preparation and execution for this phase of testing.
1.1 TRAINING OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of UAT training is to promote acceptance and utilization of the AgCSS system by:
▪ Developing training in the context of business processes using realistic, FDACS-centric business scenarios and data.
▪ Delivering timely and relevant training to stakeholders on the core skills and knowledge necessary to execute UAT Test Cases.
▪ Ensuring that participants know where to go for further help and support during UAT execution.
Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services – AgCSS Project D26 - UAT Training and Support Plan
Page 1
▪ Ensuring Super Users and support resources are competent to help staff learn effectively and have the appropriate skills and project support to properly test the AgCSS system.
SECTION 2 UAT TRAINING DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
The UAT Training Design process will leverage the AgCSS training best practice approach where it combines the use of the application in alignment with the AgCSS approved business processes.
2.1 CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS FOR UAT TRAINING AND SUPPORT
The fundamental principle of UAT training is to ensure that the right people receive the right training at the right time. The overall objective is for FDACS stakeholders to acquire the ability to demonstrate new skills during a successful UAT execution. This is achieved through the following critical success factors:
▪ Management and Project Team Support ▪ Job and Role Allocation ▪ User Acceptance Testing Environment ▪ User Acceptance Testing Schedule ▪ User Acceptance Testing Floor Support
2.1.1 MANAGEMENT AND PROJECT TEAM SUPPORT
Project team support is the number one factor for a successful UAT. This includes supporting the release of Super Users and Testers from their daily responsibilities to attend all designated training to prepare for UAT. For UAT training to be successful, participants need to focus their full attention on training and preparation for the duration of testing.
2.1.2 JOB AND ROLE ALLOCATION
The mapping of tasks to the system roles and the system roles to jobs and jobs to people will be completed before user acceptance testing (UAT). These activities provide input to the testing and training role development, where each tester will execute test cases associated to their future user role and job.
2.1.3 USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING ENVIRONMENT
An appropriate UAT environment is critical to the success of AgCSS UAT. This applies to the adequacy of the robustness of the testing system environment. The OCM team will work closely with the testing team and technical team to help ensure the AgCSS project team creates the testing environment, the refresh schedule, and adequate support resource requirements are assigned.

Page 2
2.1.4 USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING SCHEDULE
UAT will be scheduled during the planning and preparation stage of UAT and the FDACS Test Lead will manage the development of the test schedule along with support of the AgCSS PMO. As per the Master Test Plan, testers will be assigned to testing for four (4) hours per day. Front-line managers and supervisors will be instrumental in the creation of the final training and testing schedule to safeguard business operations from being disrupted by UAT and end-user training.
2.1.5 USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING FLOOR SUPPORT
Stakeholder testing floor support is critical to the success of UAT. FDACS testers will be supported during UAT to ensure accurate test case execution along with issue logging and resolutions each test cycle. Over the shoulder floor support creates a testing environment of success allowing stakeholders to accomplish the outcomes they planned for.
AgCSS SYSTEM TRAINING BY ROLE
Detailed, user-specific course materials will be developed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business process and the corresponding AgCSS application functionality. The content used for UAT training will be the approved D32 Final Training Materials DED outline.
